Because CDR keeps the vector art clean. If I convert CMX to AI it often happens that the converter puts a lot of extra vector points (don't ask me why) in the file. That can be seen when I open that file in Illustrator.
Some examples:
A CMX file of 37 KB alteres after conversion to 889 KB. A conversion of a folder containing 467 files with a total HD space of 12,5 MB becomes suddenly 23 MB.
The most irritating thing is that I must clean the altered illustrations before I can place them. Sometimes it's not possible to delete the unwanted things without distorting the art.
The test I did with the single CMX-to-CDR(V10) worked fine and the CDR file had as many points as the CMX.
Another Question:
Is the Visual Basic FileConverter as we know it in X3 also is present in CorelDRAW 10?
